Truck side steps are very handy pickup accessories, especially for shorter people and those with truck cabs that are raised higher off the ground. If you're in and out of your vehicle a lot, you won't believe how much effort a simple side step will save you.

As you can see in the pictures below, side steps come in many different designs and materials. They are sometimes referred to as a tube step or nerf bar, but all serve the same purpose for pickup truck and SUV owners.

The advantage that a single side step offers versus the longer nerf bars is mainly one of cost. A pair of simple truck side steps will run you less than most of the long tube step alternatives.
